    the whole reason he made this video is to show an alternative to Desaturate, which will lower the quality of the picture.

    Desaturating it is very easy indeed, but I appreciate the options given in this tutorial. Very well done!

    I think you better watch the video again. You have to select all in a channel, then copy, then go back to the layers palette and paste it in before you can save anything.

    my problem is that. when i use the channels to make my pic black and white and i save it as a jpeg.i still get a colored pic. is it possible to simply pik the red channel and use what that gives u in a pic

    even easier you can do ctrl+shift+U

    Make sure the layer to be copied is chosen. Then hit Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E (PC) or Cmnd+Optn+Shift+E (Mac)

    how are you making the copy layer and renaming it. I can’t get it to work. ALl I get is a white layer.
