I and a friend did the first trek of the season in March 2007 till Goecha La pass at 5000mtrs above sea level in Sikkim thats the closest u can get to Mt Kanchenunga the third highest peak in the world without flying over it or being Sherpa.The snow was yet to melt beyond Dzongri in alpine meadows, the last habitable village of Tsoka thats Malana/Vaisisth in the makin akin to Homachal minus the grass scene with only chilled beer and mobile phone coverage with solar power being worldly …

hi. what is the best time for gochala? if we go at mid- oct next year? how is the elevation and cold? it is hard or moderate? no one in our group has any experience without sandakphu-phalut. is it suitable to go gochala without any experienced leader? we are between the age group of 28-30
